T. verrucosum is a zoonotic dermatophyte that is shaped like pointed bacilli. It is an etiological agent of 98% of dermatophyte infections of cattle. It has a geographical distribution is worldwide. It causes dermatosis that can be confused with bacterial forunculosis. It also produces a non-fluorescent capitis stain with large spore ectóthrix.
