Syphacia muris is a pinworm nematode parasite belong to the order Oxyurina and is colonized in large and small intestines of mice and rats mostly laboratory animals affecting affecting assays and protocols. S. muris inhabits the cecum of the host, where the female matures within 7–8 days. Mature females migrate from the intestine mainly at noontime and deposit the eggs in the perianal region, which develop into infective larvae.
