Human papillomavirus 26

Human papillomavirus type 26 (HPV-26) is a mucosal alpha-papillomavirus classified as possibly carcinogenic. Although much less frequent than HPV-16 or HPV-18, it has been consistently found as a single infection in a small proportion of cervical cancers. Type-specific detection complements HPV genotyping in cervical cancer screening and epidemiological studies.

The OneqPCR-realtime™ Human papillomavirus 26 Kit is a ready-to-use assay for the specific detection of Human papillomavirus 26 DNA by real-time PCR (qPCR). Specific primers and a FAM-labelled hydrolysis probe amplify the target, while an internal control detected in the HEX channel reveals possible PCR inhibition or extraction failure. Positive and negative controls are included, and results can be analysed qualitatively or quantitatively using a standard curve.
