Candida tropicalis is a levaduriform fungus. In humans it can cause candidiasis, especially virulent in immunosuppressed patients. Causes bloodstream infection (candidaemia) and less commonly tissue invasive candidiasis. Rarely cause biofilm infections. Rarely causes oral or vaginal thrush. This species occurs mostly in tropical countries.
