Penaeid shrimp infectious myonecrosis virus (IMNV) is a monosegmented double-stranded RNA virus. IMN is an emerging disease of cultured penaeid shrimp. As the virus name implies, the disease in these shrimp was characterized by necrosis of skeletal muscle, especially in the distal abdominal segments and tail fan.
