Parvovirus B-19 -single-stranded DNA virus of the Parvoviridae family- is responsible of clinical manifestations including erythremia infectiosum, arthralgia, arthritis, and transient aplastic anemia. Parvovirus B-19 infection in pregnancy has been linked to cases of spontaneous abortion, congenital anomalies, hydrops and long-term neonatal outcome.
