From the genus Lactobacillus, Lactobacillus jensenii is an anaerobic, Gram-positive bacteria. Its thick peptidoglycan wall gives this non-spore forming bacteria a rod-shaped feature. It is one of the predominant species (along with Lactobacillus crispatus) found in the female lower genital tract.
