Genital human papillomavirus (HPVs) is the most common sexually transmitted infection. HPVs have been grouped as high or low risk for high-grade cervical disease and cancer outcomes. HPVs of low risk (HPV-6, HPV-11, HPV-40, HPV-42, HPV-43, HPV-44) can cause skin warts on or around the genitals or anus.
