Globodera pallida, commonly known as the golden nematode, is a microscopic root-parasitic nematode causing serious damage to potato crops and related solanaceous plants. The nematode penetrates potato roots and establishes feeding sites, severely reducing root function and water uptake, resulting in stunting and wilting. Global trade in seed potatoes has spread this pest to multiple continents where it threatens food security.
