SKU: V626

Type: qPCR Kit, qPCR Pathogen Detection Kit, qRT-PCR Kit

Francisella noatunensis is a facultative intracellular bacterium that causes francisellosis in farmed fish. It produces a chronic granulomatous disease with whitish nodules in the spleen, kidney and other organs, and can lead to high cumulative mortality. It affects cold-water species such as Atlantic cod and, through closely related strains, warm-water species such as tilapia, making it an important pathogen for the aquaculture industry.

The OneqPCR-realtime™ Francisella noatunensis Kit is a ready-to-use assay for the specific detection of Francisella noatunensis DNA by real-time PCR (qPCR). Specific primers and a FAM-labelled hydrolysis probe amplify the target, while an internal control detected in the HEX channel reveals possible PCR inhibition or extraction failure. Positive and negative controls are included, and results can be analysed qualitatively or quantitatively using a standard curve.
