EDIM virus is a nonenveloped RNA virus of the rotavirus group A. This RNA virus is highly contagious and is transmitted via contaminated bedding, airborne dust, and through contact with infected mice. Usually no clinical signs are noted in EDIM-infected mouse colonies but could develop symptoms such as watery and mustard-colored stools, lethargy, and distended abdomens.
