Dirofilaria immitis

The OneqPCR-realtime™ Dirofilaria immitis Kit constitutes a ready-to-use system for the detection of Dirofilaria immitis by real-time PCR. Dirofilaria immitis is a parasitic nematode and the causative agent of canine heartworm disease, a potentially severe cardiopulmonary infection primarily affecting dogs and other canids. The parasite is transmitted by mosquitoes and can cause progressive damage to the heart and pulmonary vasculature, resulting in significant morbidity in affected animals. The kit contains reagents and enzymes for the specific amplification of D. immitis DNA targets, together with an Internal Control amplification system to identify possible PCR inhibition. The kit also includes a Positive Control PCR mix to ensure reliable assay performance.
