Channel catfish virus (CCV), or ictalurid herpesvirus 1, is a member of the Alloherpesviridae family, and a cytopathic herpesvirus that causes a severe hemorrhagic disease in young channel catfish, Ictalurus punctatus. Infection with Channel catfish viral disease (CCVD) can cause significant economic loss in channel catfish farms.
