The family Adenoviridae contains non-enveloped viruses with a genome consisting of linear, double-stranded DNA. Adenoviruses (Adv) are most commonly detected in various lizard species, Adv infections have also been detected in many other reptile species including various species of snakes, chelonians, and crocodiles. A range of symptoms have been described in reptiles with Adv infection.
