Lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus LCMV (RNA virus member of the family Arenaviridae) is carried by rodents – including wild and pet mice, hamsters, and guinea pigs -and can be passed to humans. Clinical signs include initial growth retardation and eventual immune complex glomerulonephritis.
